Cardiac Rehab

This 12 week education and exercise program is intended for people living with cadiovascular disease. The exercise program is designed according to your medical condition, age and your physical ability. Even though the emphasis is primarily placed on aerobic exercises, the program also include strengthening and flexibility exercises.

Our objectives for the cardiac rehab program:  

  • Improve physical fitness and ability to perform daily tasks 
  • Reduce cardiovascular symptoms that occur during daily activities 
  • Improve quality of life and self-confidence 
  • Reduce global risk of reccurence of a cardiovascular event or a stroke by modifying risk factors 
  • Improve knowledge on the risk factors of cardiovascular disease through an education program (Heart to Heart) 
  • Design a personalized exercise program that is effective, safe and customized to the health, age and physical ability of the client
  • Prepare for return to work

The cardiac rehab program includes:

  • Initial consultation and follow-up with the physician, nurse, dietician, kinesiologist and the psychologist 
  • Pre and post program assessment of cardiovascular risk profil
  • Exercise sessions supervised by health profesionals or access to a home exercise program
  • Personalized exercise program 
  • Heart to Heart education program

Prevention program

This program is designed for the client who has not suffered a cardiovascular event but has 1 or many risk factors for cardiovascular disease.  This 12 week program is free of charge for diabetes clients and clients who have 3 or more risk factors for cardiovascular disease within the following : 

  • Obesity
  • Hypertension
  • Dyslipidemia
  • Depression/stress
  • Glucose intolerance
  • Family history
  • Smoking
  • Renal failure 

The Prevention program includes:

  • Initial consultation and follow-up with physician, nurse, dietician, kinesiologist and psychologist
  • Assessment of your cardiovascular risk profil at the begining and at the end of the program 
  • Resistance training program and access to the weight training room
  • Heart to Heart education program
